An exciting opportunity for a Director of Facilities & Engineering to join a leading biopharmaceutical organization. Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to oversee their facilities operations, maintenance, engineering, metrology, automation, and site IT infrastructure/support. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and compliant operation of GMP plant systems, supporting operational excellence and growth.
The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, driving initiatives to optimize maintenance, calibration, CQV activities, and infrastructure modifications, all while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. This position offers a dynamic environment for a proven leader committed to operational excellence and innovation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Director of Facilities & Engineering will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Develops and implements the strategic vision for facilities operations, engineering, maintenance, metrology, CQV, automation, and IT functions to achieve operational reliability and compliance.
- Oversees the prevention, calibration, qualification, validation activities, and documentation for GMP manufacturing equipment, facilities, and systems.
- Leads automation and IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, cybersecurity, data integrity, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with various departments to support production readiness, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- As the Director of Facilities & Engineering, you will manage external vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory standards.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Director of Facilities & Engineering we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline
- Proven experience leading Facilities, Engineering, Maintenance, Metrology, CQV, Automation, or IT functions within a regulated environment
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with a track record of managing complex projects, budgets, and teams
- Extensive knowledge of cGMP requirements, validation practices, automation, cybersecurity, and data integrity standards
- As the Director of Facilities & Engineering, you will demonstrate strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to operational challenges
