We are currently looking for a Principal Scientist to join a leading organisation in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a scientific leader to contribute their expertise within a dynamic and innovative environment that values scientific excellence and professional integrity. Based at our client’s state-of-the-art facilities, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality scientific solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. This role demands a proactive leader with deep scientific knowledge and a passion for driving scientific and operational improvements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Principal Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead and oversee complex scientific projects to ensure they meet both scientific and commercial objectives.
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, and training to colleagues to build capacity within the team.
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills and deep subject matter expertise to ensure high standards in experimental design and method development.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (GxP, safety legislation) across all projects and laboratory activities.
- As the Principal Scientist, you will represent the organisation externally at scientific conferences and contribute to the development of marketing materials and commercial strategies.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Principal Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Quality Assurance / Quality Management for QA roles).
- Significant experience within CRO, academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments with a proven track record in leading scientific projects.
- Demonstrable leadership skills, including decision-making, mentoring, and project delivery.
- Strong understanding of GxP and regulatory standards where applicable.
- As the Principal Scientist, you will actively support scientific and operational improvements, influence project outcomes, and contribute to the organisation’s growth.
