

We are recruiting a Clinical Bioinformatician to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in tha Berkshire area. As the Clinical Bioinformatician you would be responsible for making a significant impact on clinical assets by understanding modes of action and treatment effects through patient-level molecular data
This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Clinical Bioinformatician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- As the Clinical Bioinformatician you will, with minimal guidance from senior staff, process, analyse, and interpret data from omics studies within the clinical portfolio to refine understanding of biological mechanisms, disease pathobiology, and treatment effects.
- As the Clinical Bioinformatician you will develop approaches, methods, and analysis pipelines using state-of-the-art tools and technologies.
- As the Clinical Bioinformatician you will document code and analyses to ensure reproducibility of results according to best practices suited to patient-level data.
- As the Clinical Bioinformatician you will draft reports detailing methods and results with minimal revisions and contribute to scientific publications, including conference abstracts and manuscripts.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Clinical Bioinformatician, the following skills and experience are essential:
- Master/PhD with extensive experience in Bioinformatics or relevant, preferably within the industry.
- Expertise in pre-processing, integration, and analysis of various omics data types, particularly large bulk and single-cell RNAseq datasets.
- Proficiency in developing and applying methods for functional interpretation of omics data, such as pathway enrichment and causal reasoning.
- Excellent computational skills, including experience with HPC Unix environments, cloud-based platforms, and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Proficiency in R and other programming languages common in bioinformatics, with a strong ability to document code and follow best practices.
- Good understanding of statistics, data mining, and visualization of biological data types.
- Ability to effectively interpret and communicate analytical outcomes to both expert and non-expert audiences, with a preference for experience in authoring scientific publications.
