Head of Operations

ROLE OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity for a Head of Operations – Biologics, RNA and MMIC to join our client, a specialist life sciences organisation, providing strategic operational and technical leadership across two UK sites.

This senior leadership role will oversee multidisciplinary teams responsible for ISO and GMP operations, facilities management, process engineering, validation and site safety. You will help ensure operations are compliant, secure and future-ready while contributing expert insight to capability development, continuous improvement and long-term site strategy.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties as the Head of Operations – Biologics, RNA and MMIC will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across two sites, ensuring safe, secure, compliant and effective delivery of Biologics, RNA and MMIC activities.
• Lead, develop and resource multidisciplinary teams, translating business strategy into meaningful objectives, performance plans, capability development and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with SHE, GMP, ISO9001, Data Integrity, statutory engineering and quality requirements across buildings, utilities, infrastructure, equipment and operational activities.
• Oversee facilities management, engineering compliance, equipment validation, planned maintenance, statutory inspections, change control, contractor coordination and site incident management.
• As the Head of Operations – Biologics, RNA and MMIC you will provide strategic, budgetary and technical advice to senior leadership, supporting procurement, risk management, future capability planning and the delivery of long-term site strategies.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Head of Operations – Biologics, RNA and MMIC we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

• A Degree or higher level in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Biologics, Bioprocessing, Quality Assurance, Quality Management or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
• Proven senior leadership experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, biologics, RNA, GMP operations, facilities management, process engineering or a closely related life sciences environment.
• Extensive knowledge of GMP, ISO9001, SHE, Data Integrity, statutory engineering compliance, equipment validation, facilities management and critical utilities.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and resources, influence senior stakeholders, support strategic planning and foster a positive culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
