

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a CAD Designer to join a leading engineering company based in the electrical and control systems sector. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an employee-owned organisation with a rich history spanning over 40 years. As a CAD Designer, you will play a vital role in developing detailed electrical layouts and schematics, supporting a diverse range of innovative projects within a collaborative environment.
This position offers the chance to showcase your technical expertise while working on challenging design tasks that impact real-world engineering solutions. Ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic team and values precision, this role will allow you to contribute to impactful projects across construction, manufacturing, and control system design.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the CAD Designer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Drawing electrical layouts for buildings, panels, lighting, and power using standard symbols for specific projects.
- Modifying client drawings using AutoCAD, including general arrangements, wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Applying technical knowledge in construction, manufacturing, control system design, and electrical engineering.
- Collaborating with the project team for engineering support and problem-solving.
- As the CAD Designer you will ensure designs adhere to industry standards and client specifications, maintaining accuracy and quality throughout the development process.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the CAD Designer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in Computer Aided Drafting/Design in electrical or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven industry experience with tools and parts necessary for specific projects, including expertise in AutoCAD 2024 or higher and AutoCAD Electrical.
- A working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and the ability to apply NFPA and NEC standards to designs.
