

Our client is currently looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Research Scientist, you will be responsible for applying cutting-edge Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) technology and other biophysical techniques to understand drug-target interactions, providing a critical function within In Vitro Pharmacology to ensure the success of drug discovery projects.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Research Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to support small molecule drug discovery projects by producing high-quality fragment screening data.
2. Characterise the binding properties and kinetics of therapeutic molecules, providing insights to guide molecule selection from initial hit identification through optimisation to final candidate selection.
3. Assist with the integration of AI into experimental analysis and interpretation, and help design and build guides to evaluate new data and investigate relevant historic data.
4. Support the wider SPR team, including running antibody drug discovery SPR assays and establishing orthogonal screening assays like the thermal shift assay.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Research Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a scientific discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in biophysical assays and SPR technology.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with fragment screening, thermal shift assays, and other biophysical techniques.
